The historical Chicago Harbor lighthouse came to Chicago for the World fair 1893. The world far 1893 was on the southside of Chicago Jackson Park. The Chicago lighthouse was made out of Portland Oregon and shipped to Chicago in pieces. In 1919, the lighthouse was brought out to and installed on the brake wall, introducing the opening of the Chicago Chicago River that was drudged out all the way through the Des Plaines River, to the Illinois river, and going into the Mississippi out of the Gulf of Mexico.
